Terlingua /morning musings

Early morning start today , G& L leaving for return to Kentucky by way of Arkansas to visit relatives there . I cranked up the infamous pourjims coffee pot at 5:30 , sat around inside doing mail and reading the usual crap on the news services , seems like the rest of the world is pretty far away from here . I went outside about 6:30 to get some pictures of the sun coming up and early morning views of the around the park .
Last night we went to the Starlight to have something to eat and make sure the Lone Stars would'nt go bad , we rescued a couple of them that were on the verge of evaporating in the desert heat and had a great meal too! It's a nasty job but someone has to do it . As we were dining and watching the goings on I kept hearing the gang out front gearing up for a Terlingua Tuesday night , various emanations confirmed that another beautiful day in the desert was being celebrated .
Earlier in the day we had driven around the area looking for a couple of guys place we had met at Kathy's to see the house they had put together that is designed and built to be completely off the grid , we failed to find their driveway but ran into them at the Starlight and got better directions, plan to go out later this week and check it out . Had lunch at the Rio Bravo restaurant [yes Tombstone I thought of you ] just a little building with four tables and great Mexican food , the waitress is also the cook , dishwasher , owner and mom to the little girl who peeks out at you from the back room . The Duke himself could have come walking around the corner and it wouldn't have surprised me , you can check your formal clothes some where else , to say the atmosphere is laid back is like saying the Grand Canyon is a fair sized ditch .
Here are a couple of pictures from this morning , imagine having to wake up and look at this !
